Quick Update

Once upon this disaster called life I was busy and thought I might update my blog.

I know I said I would be busy in business... but turns out I'm not. However, this is much after school hours (1 hour after dismissal) and I'm at home comfortably. During business instead of updating my oh so exciting blog, I did my homework. Now, I'm free for the weekend with nothing to tie me down. Anyways... Updates on life?
Hmmm..
Well, my friend Pam - congrats! - won a writing contest. Yay Pam...
A few funny quotes from the past week?
Um... "Go suck green lemons... Oh wait! Those are limes!"
There were more, but unfortunately, I can't remember.
Lol.. Isn't that funny though?
Nvm, it was kinda one of those you-had-to-be-there type things.
Anyways... I had a poke war in religion the other day. Was quite fun - of course, I won... ;)
My birthday is coming up and I'm pretty swamped and stressed out about the party... Who to invite? When to have it? Where to have it? What to do? Dinner with family? An actual party?
But I've resolved most of it except for the invite list.. I feel bad inviting 30 or so ppl to my house - but I want to invite more guys... Dilemas, dilemas.

Swamped out.

Ice Fishing/ Snowmobiling/ Snow...

Once upon this disaster called life I went to my cottage and it WASNT! a disaster!
Lol, yesh. So I skipped school Friday (just the afternoon! only two classes gimme a break, plus I missed the morning at Kiwanis festival - band came in 1st. :D) and went up to my cottage with my dad. It was AWESOME! Although, we caught no fish, and our time was limited - 28 hours - it was fun and I love the snow, winter and outdoors. The days out on the ice (of Lake Simcoe) were beautiful, unfortunately, I didn't get much sun as I was in the nice, wonderful, amazing fish hut that my dad made from scratch. :) Go dad. Anyways, it's such a nice set-up! We had snacks, food - the best ham sandwiches in the world, popcorn, salted peanuts, etc - heat, a thermos of hot cocoa - mmm. :) - and we got to fish. Can you get a more perfect weekend? No! You can't... The scenery and snow was beautiful. And I got to drive the snowmobile. Yay for me. I'm not a beginner but still, it's a rare thing. The snow was beautiful - but nothing, nothing could beat the stars. They're so bright and beautiful and sparkling when you're not in the city. If you're a city person - sorry, it's just too polutiony in the city. If you're a country gal at heart - moi - then you'd probably enjoy the weekend, but not as much as me. Anyways, it was so much fun. I loved it and yesh... If I type anymore I'm basically going to gush over how much fun it was and how much I enjoyed it...
No fish, which put a bummer on the weekend, but a small one.
Didn't see any coyotes, but the birds were pretty. :)
Maybe I'll post some pics... Maybe not...
If you've never tried fishing before, you totally should...
Fished out,

Bored in BTT x2 (Gio's AWESOME Poem!)

Once upon this disaster called life, I was bored in businness! AGAIN!

Yesh, yesh... I know. Next class, I'll have something to do so don't worry... There won't be too many blog posts from business class for a while. Anyways... My friend Giovanna - ily<3 - wrote this amazing poem. And, I just got more work for next class... So there might be a blog for that class too. But then we start Access and Powerpoint, so that'll keep me busy for a few weeks. Then March Break. YAY! Anyways, Gio's poem... K. If you're a publisher - msg me! I write too. Good... I've won a few writing contests... YESH! Gio's poem. Right.
K; read:
A Burning Dream
A dream so big,
she aims so high!
Sky's the limit,
but why does she cry?

Doors are open,
but no one helps her through.
They don't understand
her desires are true.

She tries so hard
for what she wants the most.
To laugh and not cry,
and maybe even boast.

Presenting all options,
opportunties galore.
Giving her the chance
to show her stuff and soar.

It's hard to take,
to stand up and hear:
"It's not what's best for you,
trust me, my dear."

So she's left alone,
with her burning dream.
Will she have the courage
to stand up and scream?

-Giovanna Campagna.

Okay, tell me that wasn't amazing?! It was, right? It connects so much and so much emotion shines through. Plus, it rhymes. :) My kind of poem. My personal favourite poet? Robert Frost - and Dr. Seus! ;) Lol.

Full credit to Gio!
Woo hoo! Loved it!

Anyways,
I'm gonna start this work... Joy. (Insert eye roll!)
Signing off.

PS: Gio, you rock.. Maybe I'll post my poems? Nah...

Bored in BTT

Once upon this disaster called life I took a class called business aka BTT 101.
Yes, I'm in business and I'm actually quite amazed that the board didn't block this site.
Stupid blocking, it's preventing me from playing games. Yesh, I get bored in Business cause, let's face it: I'm a computer geek, and I'm like four lessons ahead. Okay, one class, big difference! I was going to play the Impossible Quiz - fun, FUN, FUN! - but, naturally (insert eye roll) it's blocked. Zipadeedoodah! Lol. I love that movie. It's 4th Period too, so I'm out of my mind bored. Not to mention I have NO HOMEWORK! Yay. So that gives me the entire evening to practice my flute... What do you expect? I told you I was a geek. Not to mention a dork - but hello? Dorks are awesome! I know; it's like I'm saying that being popular is lame. But hey, who says a dork isn't popular? I'm not one of those dorks with the high suspenders and glasses - nothing against those people. I did have braces though - so now, my teeth are nice and straight. (Bright smile). Yesh... So... Boredom. B-O-R-E-D-O-M. Boredom is my kingdom. Tee hee. =] ... Well, it kinda rhymes. Oh give me a break, I'm bored. OUT OF MY MIND! Yesh, anyways. It's true, I am the Queen of Boredom. I do have a life. Which will bring me to my next topic: my life this weekend.

At the end of a four-day weekend, there comes Tuesday... And when Tuesday comes around, you hate it just as much as Monday after a four-day weekend. Nobody slept really well cause - UCK! - it's Monday eve... Tomorrow there's school. Plus when you sleep in till like 11 from being up till like 2 the night before, and you're going to bed 11 hours later (10) - you tend not to be tired... Anyways. Well, Thursday was V-day.. To be dreaded and boycotted. IT'S VALENTINES DAY! WOO HOO! NOT! It's just a stupid holiday made by the greeting card company... Honestly, if we got a day off - I wouldn't hate it so much. But we don't. So therefore, it's a stupid holiday with cupid and cutips... Sorry, I meant arrows. See - my mind is still in deadlock. Plus side - CANDY! Downside - this year, it's during Lent. Yesh, I'm a Catholic dork... [Don't judge.] And YESH! I use brackets alot... Once again - don't judge. ... Shoot darts at hearts! Boycott V Day!! Where was I? Oh! My weekend... Right... Thursday I did absolutely nothing. I stayed at home and came up with clever sayings (see above) with my friends as to why we hate Valentines day... Aka Single Awareness Day? Not my idea... So. Night. Morning. PA DAY! Yipee! That was NOT sarcastic! I call my best friend forever (not 4eva - forever) and we make plans for lunch at this caffe that has the best (I mean best!) hot cocoa in the entire universe. Demetres. We meet there at 2 and have large hot cocoas. Then we spilt for a pep. pizza and I buy us two small hot cocoas. We were there till 4 so you can imagine all the good times. Nosy nosies. NO! I will not go into details. Then we go back to my place and watch... um... what's it called?... RIGHT! Happy Feet! Yesh, we were bored and my dad stole all our DVD's and took them to the cottage, so we had a very low selection and decided to watch happy feet. About half way through the movie - after what's-his-face meets the little Spanish penguins - my brother comes down and wants to know if we want to go see One Missed Call. Me, hating horror movies, and her, loving them but loving me more... ily! <3... decided not to watch the horror movie, but instead Water Horse. We completely soaked our popcorn in butter - lol, popcorn soup - and laughed at all the little kids who were laughing and screaming and crying. Movie was done, and my brother's movie wasn't finished yet - he went with his friend from hockey, they're younger... If they were older, then we would SO go with them, lmao! - so we walked around.AMC isn't exactly like yorkdale, it's JUST then theatre. But it's alot more comfy and the seats, it's like sitting on HEAVEN! Anyways, so we take the elevator (we're not lazy, there were no stairs!) and go up to the second floor. There, we see a light that keeps flickering, and both of us being quite fearful of the grudge, decide to go back down... We scare my brother and his friend coming out of the theatre, and practically run to get out of there. Naturally, my brother gives us all the horrorful details on the way home and when I turn on my cell phone and get the message: One Missed Call, I, of course, a) scream, b) throw the phone to my friend and c) demand that my mom keep it away from me! Anyways... That was Friday. Good times. I really enjoyed it. It was like the ultimate day. If I could redo any day of my life - it'd be that day. I probably would've said grad, except it was too sad to do over every day. Plus, my valedictorian speech prevented me from truly enjoying myself. And the hair and make up was TORCHOREOUS! So then Saturday, I didn't do anything. I started - notice I didn't say do - my homework, then stopped, then braided my hair then watched TV for like, a thousand hours. Then I went to church and yesh, that was my Saturday. Oooh! And the Leaf game. Can't believe we won. MIRACLE! Then Sunday comes - parents are at work, I sleep in till 11 (usual) and I make plans with my friends for 5ish. Actually, if you want percise, it was quarter to 6. So, my bff (the same one from Friday) and my other bff (I have quite a few) go to see Step Up 2 at Yorkdale aka dorkdale. IT WAS AMAZING!!! It was really good. Highly recommend it. 8/10. Yesh, I rate everything out of 10... Unfortunately (another eye roll), we saw an old friend... Well, we kinda hate each other but will tolerate each other so... We hung out with him and his friends, and laughed at him as he obviously has too much time because he rules at DDR - Dance Dance Revolution.. DUH! So, we got our popcorn and a mega-huge drink - mmmmm. iced tea - and went and got seats. Movie. Over. We were waiting for my mom to pick us up (yesh, I basically have a chauffer... but I NEVER take it for granted.. HONEST!) and went into indigo. I had a $10 gift card left over from Christmas so I bought a new book - guess which one? - and then we took some pics while waiting. Can you believe that my old "friend" wanted to play hide and seek in Indigo? CHYEAH! I know!! Anyways... So I went home, read till 2, went to bed and fell asleep. Monday - Family Day - once again, my parents were at work... So, my brother hogs the computer as I finish my homework and practice my flute. He tells me that his friend invited him to go play shinny and he leaves. I stay home for a while, my brother gets home, my mom gets home. We all head off to my brother's hockey game, which he ties 3-3. He didn't play - he's on a select team and a goalie, so the two goalies alternate, he'll play next game. Lately, they've been in a slug, like a 7 game losing streak, but before, they were AMAZING... Like 4-0 every game! Unforunately, that's the best they've done in a while. If they're reading this for some strange reason - sorry guys, you're not on a roll, now are you? Yeah...Then we came home and here I am. At school. Bored, near the end of class. Sorry about that - I started near the beginning, but then we took a break to correct some stuff and yeah. 10 minutes till I escape to freedom - well, to the public transit. Oh well... Tis better than school. Which reminds me, uuuuugh. Math.... I'm in AP - DORK! - advanced placement and part of that is writing a math competition. So I did that this morning in 1st period. To be honest with you, it wasn't THAT hard. I mean, it wasn't like 1+1 or anything (4, by the way. Lol. Jokes.) but only the latter parts were like E= mc(mc)... That's MC sqaured for you... Since, I don't know how to do superscript on blogs? Anyways... As a "break", today in math, after lunch, we went into the library and played Rush Hour - you know that game with the cars where you have to get the red car to the exit? YES! That! Anyways... I got to lvl 11 and pretty much gave up. I don't have that much patience. Anyways, I was going to pracitce that but I guess I'm out of time... How long is this blog?

K, well, my thoughts are now condensed.

Cindy Ella

Once upon this disaster called life, I read a book called Cindy Ella by Robin Palmer. Honestly, it is a GREAT book. I'm not just saying that to endorse it or because I have some contract with the publishing company that if I put it on my blog, then they'll publish my work, because I don't have anything like that. Honest, I swear! Being completely honest, I don't. I'm a writer, yesh, but I would never sell myself out. Seriously, this is a great book. Well, for girls. I rate it a 9.5/10. Why not 10/10? Well, a perfect book tends to be for both genders, for any age, at any stage of life, and can relate to any mood. This one is mostly for teenage girls, but still - it was great! I just could not put it down. ALSO, a new record best reading time. From 10 Pm - 2 AM. That's 4 hours. I'm quite proud. :) Most of you are probably thinking from the title: Cindy Ella? Are you serious? I've seen the movie hun, don't want to read another modern twist. It's honestly nothing like that. Her name is Cindy Ella Gold, and she's a sophomore who's anti-prom-ness gets her hated by pretty much the entire school. Her middle name - Ella - wasn't chosen to be highly ironic, but because it was her mother's favourite singer. Okay, so there are some relations to the Disney Classic, we all - or I - know and love, Cinderella. Her mom died, her dad remarried and she has two evil stepsisters who are completely prom crazy. Sound familiar enough? Ella is a nouveau feminists and writes a letter to the school newspaper that is completely anti-prom. Her two best friends stick with her, and she ends up meeting three guys - in the end, it ends up being one - and lives happily ever after. BUT, yes, that's right, I said but... She doesn't go to prom... I won't give away the complete story but to summarize...

YOU SHOULD READ IT.

It really is amazing. And complete props to Robin Palmer. I'll make sure to read some more of your books. K, well, farewell for now.

Signing off,
AntiPrincess...

PS: Sorry, I kind of stole the AntiPrincess thing from this book. WHAT?! I was braindead this morning and it's a tribute to my love for it.

A Bit About Moi

Once upon this disaster called life, there was me.
There's really not that much to know, I can be interesting at times, but I tend to even bore myself. My thoughts are very repetitive, and I'm a Pisces, so I'm a dreamer. I'm a fantasy person - reality sucks. What?! You don't agree? You know you think the same. Books are my life, music is my life, my friends are my life - so basically, I have no life. No, I do... But it's not very big. In fact, it's quite little. See, I told you it would get more interesting. To me, this is interesting. Then again I'm writing it. Oh, another thing about me: I'm talkative. EXTREMELY talkative. Honestly, that last sentence (<--) was an understatement. I tend to babble. Sorry. (Shrugs innocently.) But yes, this isn't telling you too much about myself is it? Well, I won't bore you with my favourite things - if that's what your looking for then go to my profile. Though it's not very detailed. I'm pretty open minded, and I'm a complete activist. Animal cruelty, global warming - the works. However, feminism just doesn't become me. Which is to say (in case you haven't noticed by now - I'm female), I can be a real girly girl at times. Shopping, hanging with friends, oggling over guys, talking on the phone - though lately, my brother's been hogging the phone. Talk about meterosexual. Lol. Back to activism. I'm not just an activist because it's the newest rage - I'm actually against it. I mean, we should care and fight for what we believe in because we believe it! Not because some celebrity tells us too. I actually remember how I got into activism. I don't think that's a word - (another thing about me: very creative, make up new words alot - get used to it!) - but oh well. I grew up with animals, in the wilderness - I can be a real Jane at times, that is after she lived with Tarzan for a few years - the outdoors. I've always loved animals, and ever since I can remember I've been fighting for them and their rights. I'm a faithful follower of WWF (no, not wrestling) and IFAW and other animal orgs. That's basically how I got onto global warming; I was doing a research project about endangered species in grade two (spare time, research, details... I'm very devoted) and I found out that global warming is doing alot of hurt to the world. So since then, I've been a green person too. Ironically, my birthday is on St Patty's day. Woo hoo. Go green. Anyways... Um, save the earth and recycle. Please? Right, about me. Well, I love french, more specifically franglish. See: J'aime franglish beacoup, more than moi. :) It's quite a simple concept really, speak in french, whatever you don't know how to say, say in english. Hmmm... What else is there to know? I really don't know. I'll just roll with the punches I guess.
Au revoir mes readers,
AntiPrincess.

Entry 1?

Once upon this disaster called life I created a blog.
I was very bored today and have been thinking about creating a blog for a very, very, VERY long time. So, yesh, this may be my first entry but believe me, it will get more interesting... I hope. Hmmm...? What to write about... Not really in a blogging mood at the moment, but I have nothing better to do. If you're reading this - hi! Thanks for reading. Maybe I'll post more later.

In composed thought,
AntiPrincess.
