Sleepover/ This is why I love hockey
Unfortunately. You know: headache, stomache ache, slight fever, nauseous - all that jazz.
On the plus side, Heather slept over two nights. After the shinny game that David played with some hockey friends, she came over. We had to give Patrick a ride, and Cruzel came with us to keep me company, plus the hockey equipment so our car was PACKED. Anyways, I hope Cruzel had fun. There were a few good laughs. Like, Anthony threw his glove at David. We laughed so hard. Or David and Joseph dropped the gloves. Jokingly, of course. They were all yelling at each other. It was really funny.
Anyways, we got home from the shinny at like 5:10, and then Heather arrived at 5:12. So, that was Sunday. We played some computer games - got really good at Bubble Trouble and Zombies to Shoot, ate way too much junkfood, managed to keep an entire bag of skittles away from David for three days, watched a few movies, went for a walk through the park, and got a chance to catch up. OH! And I creamed her in Friends trivia. :) Just had to add that in.
It was really really fun. A few funny moments:
"Orange. No, not orange. That other colour. GREEN!"
"Boys are like toilets. They're either taken or full of shit."
There was something else that she told me specifically to blog about but I don't remember. Sorry Feathernator. :) Yes, we played dress up. As is our sleepover tradition. Heather wore my new scarf as a cape and became Feathernator! The half supervillian, half superhero that catches herself, goes to jail, escapes jail then catches herself all over again. And I became blue ninja, which (big surprise) didn't work out too well. It was fun. She left this morning, at like 10 am.
It was so nice to catch up. :) I haven't seen her since the summer, so it was fun. Bubble trouble just isn't the same without us yelling at each other.
So, today. As I lay in bed with my tummy ache, I was told that we would in fact be going to Ottawa and that we get to go to the World Junior game. :D Unfortunately, we only get to go to one. Fortunately, IT'S CANADA VS USA! AWESOME! So, I ate since I felt less nauseous and decided to come on the computer.
I love hockey. :)
It's amazing.
It's fun to watch, I have an excuse to scream loudly and ugh, the guys. ;]
This is why I love hockey:
Goalie, Age: 19 Defense, Age: 18 Defense, Age: 19
Zach Boychuck Stefan Della Rovere Cody Hodgson
Forward, Age: 19 Forward, Age: 18 Foward, Age: 18
Tyler Ennis Jamie Benn <3 Patrice Cormier
Forward, Age: 19 Forward, Age: 19 Forward, Age: 17
They're all on the Canadian juniors! Sigh. I wish their profiles would say if they were single or not. Not like I would have a chance.. I mean, they'd travel a lot and they're hockey players who are pretty damn hot. Still... Sigh.

BORED.
I should really be doing some work, but I woke up early this morning to go to Yorkdale before it go too busy. Yesterday was boxing day (when the whole mall goes on sale) and my mom and I went at nine. The mall only opened an hour ago, and there was not a single parking spot! So, after driving around for an hour (shame on us), we went home. This morning we went again, we exchanged my coat for a beautiful new red one, a pair of jeans, a new tank and two new graphic tees. I love them. :) One is pink with a panda and it says, "Too cute for extinction" and one is a koala bear and it says "Tree Hugger". They're so cute.
Anyways, what have I done so far this Christmas break?
K, well... Saturday, I made cookies.
Sunday, I went bowling with Charlene.
Monday, Elaine came over and we watched that weird movie.
Tuesday, Charlene, V and Josh came over and we had a snowball fight and made the worst fort in the history of the world.
Wednesday was Christmas Eve so I didn't do anything with friends.
Thursday was Christmas, so again - nothing with friends.
Friday was Boxing Day so everybody was out shopping.
Saturday, I'm going over to Charr's house. Hopefully...
Which reminds me, I'm going to go do her little note things. That's how bored I am.
Look for postings after. :P

Merry Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart. I hope it's been joyous, happy and full of wonderful memories. May all your wishes come true and Santa Claus treat you well. All throughout this holiday season, let us be happy and cheerful. So, not only do I wish you a Merry Christmas but happy holidays and specifically, a Happy Chanukah for all my Jewish friends. I love you all. :)
So, December 25th. The big day. It was interesting... Don't you hate cold hot chocolate? I thought I was finished, but I looked in my cup and apparently I'm not. So I just took a gulp and finished it. But it's cold. YUCK... Anyways. So, for me Christmas started yesterday. I woke up, then ran a few errands with my mom. Just as I was getting home, my dad, brother and I went to pick up my grandmother for Christmas dinner. We always have it on Christmas Eve, do not ask me why. Anyways, so we opened her gifts (I love them. I got a beautiful white Christmas ornament with music notes and my name on it and a silver necklace that has a treble clef), stuffed ourselves and then had many hours of conversations. Then, we had to go to church so my dad drove her home since they're Anglican. We got there really really early, like 45 minutes early, and the priest asked us to bring up the gifts. We did okay for not knowing what to do. So, we went home and my dad had hot cocoa ready for us.
Then, we went downstairs and since David had found one of his gifts hidden already, I got to open first. We always say we're only going to open one at midnight, then end up opening all of them so we can sleep in in the morning. So, we opened our gifts in a Megan-David order until they were all gone. I got my two pre-Christmas gifts: my new boots and my new cell. Then, I got a new coat (which is too small, so I have to return it), some new shirts, a CD, and some more stuff. It was a good Christmas. Then, I spent some time trying on my new stuff and dancing around with the family. We woke up this morning for a big breakfast, then we watched Christmas movies. At 3, we went to the Colossus to watch Marley and Me.
We parked, got our tickets and went across the street to Second Cup for hot cocoa and coffee. Then, we got popcorn - the people gave me it with Becel instead of butter and it tasted really weird - and watched. It was decent, but nothing compared to the book. Although, books like that are hard to portray in a movie. I cried though. So much. I bawled... Endlessly. I came out of the theatre and my eyes were red, my cheeks were blotchy and I couldn't catch my breath. A lot of people were giving me weird looks, but it's so sad. Apparently, I was crying loudly but whatever. That's according to David. Then we came home and I started wishing everyone a merry Christmas. :)
So, MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody.
Check out this greeting card.

Too Busy For A Friend
One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much," were most of the comments. No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.
Several years later, one of the students was killed in Viet Nam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature. The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin. As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Mark's math teacher?" he asked. She nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Mark talked about you a lot." After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher. "We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket. "They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it." Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him. "Thank you so much for doing that," Mark's mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it." All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home." Chuck's wife said, "Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album." "I have mine too," Marilyn said. "It's in my diary." Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. "I carry this with me at all times," Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists." That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.
[I started to cry right around here]
The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be. So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late. Remember, you reap what you sow. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.

Faith
One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children. The teacher asked a little boy:
TEACHER: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. He doesn't exist.
A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy:
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss (getting tired of the questions by this time).
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she must not have one!
"FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT"
BOWLING.
Well, not really. Charlene messed up my plan for Sunday, but it turned out much better..
So thank you for messing up my plan. :)
So, Saturday I was supposed to do the usual Saturday night thing with V, Josh, Char and Zela... But only V and Josh could come. Then my mommy tells me that she made plans for us to go visit my sponsor and her children (who are absolutely ADORABLE!).
After church, we go over to their house, I get to show off my new boots, and we converse. I got to see a cute puppet show, play hall-soccer, and visit Caramel - their dog. I also got to help make sugar cookies. Unfortunately for me, the cookie dough was so DAMN deliscious so I ate way too much and I had a stomach ache all night and all morning.
Then, I was talking to Josh and he was like: "Let's go over this afternoon," and of course, I agreed. Then, I'm watching TV and waiting for the TV show to end so I can call Char (I can never concentrate when the TV's on) but she calls me! So, after much calling back and forth between her, Vanessa, Cruzel and my mom at work, we decide that I'll go.
It was fun, but I suck. And I'm not exagerating. I SUCK. MAJORLY. Even with Charlene's wonderful coaching, I sucked. Oh well, I think I improved? A little? Charlene's reading this and shaking her head. Nope. I did not improve.
Anyways, it was fun.
Charlene - check.
After, I went to David's hockey game. His little guys are SO CUTE! Unfortunately, they lost 5-3. A bunch of the kids got him cards and gifts and stuff and all the cards say, "Coach David", IT'S TOO CUTE! My mother and I were gushing over it while David was crashing the party. Well, not really crashing since he was invited but... Then, we watched the other teams and we know people on them so it was cool. Then, he crashed those parties.
Now, there might be hockey friends sleeping over! I'M AFRAID. VERY AFRAID.
Wish me luck, and happy holidays. :D

Friendship
Did you know that those who appear to be very strong in heart, are really weak and most susceptible?
Did you know that those who spend their time protecting others are the ones that really need someone to protect them?
Did you know that the three most difficult things to say are: I love you, sorry, and help me.
Did you know that those who dress in red are more confident in themselves?
Did you know that those who dress in yellow are those that enjoy their beauty?
Did you know that those who dress in black, are those who want to be unnoticed and need your help and understanding?
Did you know that when you help someone, the help is returned in two-fold?
Did you know that it's easier to say what you feel in writing than saying it to someone in the face? But did you know that it has more value when you say it to their face?
Did you know that if you ask for something in faith, your wishes are granted?
Did you know that you can make your dreams come true, like falling in love, becoming rich, staying healthy, if you ask for it by faith, and if you really knew, you'd be surprised by what you could do.
But, don't believe everything I tell you, until you try it for yourself, if you know someone that is in need of something that I mentioned, and you know that you can help, you'll see that it will be returned in two-fold.
